Low tire pressure sensor was on, found this in the front passenger side tire. Not what I needed a week before I leave for Vegas.
[Update] Les Schwab was able to get the tire patched. If I get one more thing stuck in a tire, I’ll have flat tire bingo for this set, since I already had to replace one a month after getting them for a punctured sidewall, and now 2 others have picked up a screw during their life span.

I think it’s from the construction crew replacing the waterlines around my neighborhood.

That poor A/S 3.

I honestly have to say that out of all the things that can go wrong within a week of a big trip, this is pretty minor. Please don’t let it get to you, fix it and move on.

Don’t you think it’s a little late to still be running studded tires?

Not impossible. I was going off it appearing to have a recess-top hex head and the ruins of a captive washer, but most body bolts have a little thicker washer than that would have to have been.

At least it didn’t pierce a sidewall...

In Portland OR? No you run studded tires until September, then go to all seasons for 2 months then back to studded. At least that’s what it seems like everyone does.

True, but this is the third time I’m going to have to have a tire repaired or replaced in the 9 months I’ve had this set.

July is half over, which means its basically August, which means September is right around the corner, so just RTV that thing in there and you’re good until next summer.

A week is plenty of time. That stuff always happens to me when I’m already 15 mins late

Hey snap.
car indicated the other day a low pressure warning on the front passenger side.
Inflated both front wheels as they were both a little out. Then sure enough last night the warning went off again.
Parked up this morning outside a tyre centre to be the first there for when they open.
turned out to be a nail. They took the nail out and repaired the hole and sent us on our way.

Nice! Defcon is one of the strangest, booziest things I do all year...
I was considering putting together a meetup.. but then thought I couldn’t be bothered.

You should. I’ve been looking forward to going for a while. I was going to try and go a couple years back but I was taking classes in the summer, and didn’t have the money.
